Try solving a mystery in Skaraborg! At several of Skaraborg’s museums and cultural centers, you can buy a mystery box containing various clues that guide you through an exciting and historical adventure in different urban settings. Here in Hjo, you will take part in the Spa Resort Drama.
The Spa Resort Drama begins in Hjo at the end of the 19th century. Maria Charlotta from Korsberga has been prescribed spa bathing at the Hjo Water Cure Institute. But now, someone has put a lock on the Poor Relief Fund—the money that pays for Maria Charlotta’s stay.

The Spa Resort Drama in Hjo – The Mystery of the Locked Poor Relief Fund is a family activity that offers new insights into the history of Hjo. Visitors start at the Cultural Quarter, where they are introduced to a local (fictional) mystery. Solving the mystery requires teamwork, and participants are assisted by a special box. Inside the box is a map used to find clues around the town of Hjo. The box also contains various tools needed to solve the mystery along the way.
The activity takes approximately 1.5 hours and is suitable for children aged 6 to 13.
