Spend 90 minutes exploring clay at the wheel or worktable with expert guidance. Create 1–2 bowls or sculpt by hand, and take home a finished, glazed ceramic piece after the session.
Join us for a relaxed and creative 1.5-hour pottery session at Clay in Hjo. You’ll be guided through the process of wheel throwing or, if you prefer, hand-building or slab work at the worktable.
The session begins with a demonstration by your instructor, who shows how to throw a bowl on the wheel. Participants then take turns at the wheels with hands-on assistance and can also decorate their pieces, attach handles, or sculpt freely at the table. Most guests create 1 or 2 bowls or similar items during the session.
After the workshop, your creations will be glazed and fired by us. You can collect your finished pieces in about 3–4 weeks or have them shipped for an additional fee. There's also the option to choose a custom glaze for an added cost.

Minimum 2 participants per session.
Children aged 4–12 are welcome. Children under 4 join free with a paying adult.
We have 5 wheels available; for larger groups, we alternate between wheel and worktable activities.
Custom glaze option available after the session (SEK 50 per item).
Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy. Aprons and slippers are provided.

Nestled in the lush city park of charming Hjo, you’ll find Clay Pottery Studio – a vibrant place filled with creativity, community, and inspiration. Since the summer of 2021, our studio has been located in a beautiful old warehouse, offering courses, a workshop, a shop, and a café all under one roof.
Here, you’ll be greeted by the aroma of coffee, the hum of the pottery wheel, and a joyful mix of people creating, laughing, and exploring the possibilities of clay. We welcome groups and host workshops year-round – there’s always something fun happening at Clay!
In our shop, you’ll find my own handcrafted ceramics alongside selected art and handmade pieces from other local creators. Feel free to relax in our cozy self-serve café bar, where you can enjoy a fika in an inspiring setting.
